What injuries is this hot/cold wrap suitable for?

The LP 797 Hot/Cold Knee Wrap is ideal to apply hot or cold therapy and compression to acute injuries, sprains and strains to the knee and other similar sized areas.

How does the LP 797 Hot/Cold Knee Wrap work?

The knee wrap is made from high quality neoprene and contains a reusable gel filled bag which can be frozen or warmed in hot water or the microwave to apply soothing heat. It features a secure Velcro closure to allow user to dictate the amount of compression applied and ensure a snug fit. The wraps are comfortable and allow the athlete to remain mobile during treatment. Made from neoprene covered in soft terry cloth, the wraps are easy to use, wont leak water all over the chair like ice, and are re-usable. Comes complete with reusable hot/cold pack inserted. Additional hot/cold packs can be purchased to prolong treatment and or alternate hot and cold therapy treatments.

To chill: Simply remove the gel pack from the brace (1 gel pack comes with brace) and place in the freezer for 2-3 hours for maximum cooling effect, refreezing after use generally takes about an hour or so.

To heat: Boil 2-3 quarts of water, remove from heat and submerge gel pack in water, leave for 5 minutes to absorb the maximum amount of heat.

Alternatively, in a microwave-safe bowl, submerge the brace in 2-3 quarts of room temperature water and heat for 2-3 minutes, if not sufficiently hot, microwave in 15 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Be careful when removing heated pack as it will be VERY HOT

***USE CAUTION, NEVER BOIL GEL PACK***

Place the heated or cooled pack into the inner pocket and strap the brace onto the area you wish to treat. You should always take extra care when using hot or cold packs, as skin irritation, heat rash or frostbite can occur if you apply the gel packs directly to the skin. Generally you will not want to apply heat or cold to an injury for more than 20 minutes at a time.
