Buttock Injuries
Piriformis Syndrome The most common cause of Piriformis syndrome is when the adductor muscles (inside your thigh) get tight. This means the abductors on the outside cannot work properly and so put more strain on the Piriformis.
Sacroiliac Joint Inflammation
There will be pain located either to the left or right of your lower back. This pain might be an ache or it might be a sharp pain which can restrict movement. The pain may radiate out into your buttocks and low back and will often radiate to the front into the groin. Occasionally it is responsible for pain in the testicles among males.
Iliolumbar Ligament Sprain Pain in the lower back area (sacroiliac joint area).
Myofascial Pain in Buttock Muscles Pain and tension in the buttock area. Pain may radiate into the back of the thigh, particularly when the trigger points are pressed (palpated).
Sciatica Depending on where the sciatic nerve is pinched will determine where you feel the pain which can radiate to the front of the knee or right down the back of the leg to the foot.
Lower Back Pain
A constant or intermitant aching pain in the back. There can be pain on either side, both sides or in the center. The most usual complaint is that the pain is in a band all the way across the lower back. The hamstrings and buttocks may also be painful. Possibly a reduction in the range of motion.
